Nitty Gritty

I have now bought and had this little God-send!!!

It was highly recommended on the crafts forum website, I had a good look at their own website, then wondered if I could get it cheaper on E-bay. Which I did, from this seller :

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Nitty-Gritty-Comb_W0QQitemZ320439986612QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_Health_Beauty_Hair_Care_Brushes_Combs_PP?hash=item4a9bb629b4

This little nit comb is **THE BEST** I have ever bought and used. Trust me, I have used everything out there! And spent £££'s!

This comb has longer, closer together teeth, which not only get the "walkers" it gets EVERYTHING else! Including the empty egg cases.

I urge everyone with kids, to buy this! (can you tell I love this comb!!)

New website coming soon

No it's not mine!!

You might have noticed a new badge on the left side of my blog. It's for a new website called www.thelittlebigshop.com They have had a lot of interest from buyers and sellers and plan to launch at the beginning of November.

Setting up a shop will be free if you sign up before November (Tell them I sent you!) There are no set up or listing fees. And will only charge up 10% for the Final Valuation Fee. That's only 10p in every pound. £1 in every £10.

Compare this to E-bay, with there shop's monthly fees of £14.99 then their listing fees and their final valuation fees.

With this new site, if you don't sell anything, then you don't pay anything. What is there to loose??

I for one, am going to give it a go, if it doesn't work out, then I have not lost a penny.

It's for selling everything, not just hand crafted items. So why not give it a go.

Sign up on their landing page as a buyer or seller. It could become very interesting!!! And maybe one day will give E-bay a run for it's money!!

ILL KIDS!!

Why oh why do my kids pick up all the bugs going???!!!!

My daughter who is 12, has had a really bad cough for weeks now. Because she coughs so hard, it takes her breath and then she ends up being sick. She's had 2 lots of antibiotics. Seemed to have gotten better then yesturday have the tummy bug, so another day off school. Today she went back not 100% and now has a week off, on half term to recover again.

My son is 4, had a tummy bug for a day here and there, but seems to be doing ok in avoiding the bugs in school.

My OH works away, had "man-flu" a few weeks back and only came home when he was over the worst of it.

Me.... well, touch wood .... I'm bug free .... for now!!!!!

Wishes peeps would keep all their bugs and germs and stop sharing!!!!

Rant over :o)

New items!

Hi guys :o) some pics of a few new items. They are not on the website yet, as I have a small local fair this weekend. So trying to say myself some time, will put them on the site if they don't sell. This bracelet has glossed pastal coloured fimo hearts in 2 sizes. Even the extended has a little silver coloured heart on the end of it!
Black plated toggle bracelet with silver plated heart charms (I do like hearts .... can't you tell!!)

Purple bling ring bag charm, or could be used as a keyring, on jeans etc!

I know that this photo does nothing for these 2 bracelets, they are so so much better when you can see them and hold them! They are actually Swarovski crystal stretch bracelets. Made from 50! yes 50!! bi-cones and 10 hearts. The left one is Fuchsia and the right one is Black Diamond.

Flying High!!!!

Hi all, not blogged for a while, as things came to a halt! But now with Xmas coming we seem to have found bits and pieces to do including small fairs.

Daughter went off today to Spain with my Aunty for a week. Was up at 5am this morning to take them to the airport. Looking at the time now 6.41am, they should have checked in and starting to get excited.

Daughter has had a really bad chest infection this last week, and has not been in school. But the bugs are doing the rounds now they are all back in school. Hopefully the warm weather will sort her out.

Not crafted much these last few weeks. But now supplies have arrived, working on bling bracelets for Xmas. Made totally from Swarovski Crystals, fingers crossed they work out ok. Also had another load of Fimo shapes that need, finishing off and glossing. So that's gonna keep us busy for the next week or so. As soon as I have pics of the finished items will post them on here.

Totally updated website. Lots of new pics on there.

That's all for now, nothing very exciting I'm afraid!

Take care all and thanks for reading x x

Warren Mill Farm Park

Braved the weather today and took a chance on it! And it only rained as we were leaving!!
Kids and I went to Warren Mill Farm Park near Cowbridge, South Wales.

Really easy to find, off the A48 or just off junction 34 off the M4.
And for a change it was a cheap day out. £2 for adults and £1 for kids to get in. 30p per bag of animal feed and we took our own picnic!!
Kids had a great time, fed all animals that wanted it! Saw the usual sheep, pigs, goats, miniture ponies , hen & chickens, plus llama, chipmunks, rabbits, ducks etc.
Would suggest anyone in the area, or anyone visiting the area to visit. Pick a dry day, pull on the wellys, pack a picnic and set off!!!

3 fimo pendents

3 lovely fimo pendents. The 2 on each end are flat discs. The left one is blue and white and the right one is black and white. We did have a brown and white one, but that slod at the Guide Fete.
The central pendent is a solid fimo teardrop shape, in white pearly fimo, painted on front is the lovely pattern, in purple and lilac. With a crystal set into the middle.
All 3 pendents are on the website and will be on MISI soon.

Tuesday 21 July 2009

Rain .... Rain ..... & Sky!!!

Not a lot happening on the crafty front at the mo, as waiting for fimo charms to arrive from America in readyness for Halloween!!!!

But 2nd day of the kids summer holidays and its raining, and I mean RAINING!!!!! Such typical weather for July here in the UK!!

But on a positive note (ish!) Things are going well on E-bay and Sky are fitting the TV side of things today!! The phone goes on beginning of August and about 10 days after that the Broadband. So fingers crossed it all goes smoothly.

More fun with Fimo!

Been a bit quiet these last few days. Updating website due to a busy weekend of selling. Adding a few new items to it. Also been busy on E-bay, listing more items, as I had left things run and was down to zero items active!! (welsh_lass_lost) if anyone is interested!!!

Pics are 2 bracelets using fimo beads.
Son has already finished nursey so have him home for exactly 8 WEEKS!!!! How will I cope!!! Never mind, come 4th Sept, he will be in full time school!! Daughter finished half day Friday, so no more early mornings for a while!!! Yipeeeee :o)
Since on the search for Craft Fairs, lucking out at the moment, everything seems to be too far away :o(

Pics are of the Scout & Guide Fete we did on 4/7/09. Had a fab day, did get a little wet though!! Went to another fair on 5/7/09 in Worchester. Didn't do aswell there. Think the variety was too much. Craft was in with collectables and bric a brac.
My youngest finished nursery today, so have him home for EIGHT WEEKS now!! What am I going to do with him!!!! LOL Sent him with a card for each of the teachers, with a bag charm inside as a present. Also popped in a business card with the website address on. Shameless I know!!!!!

We have been busy!!

Creative hands have been at work!!!
As I mentioned in my last post, we have the Scout & Guide Fete on the 4th July, and on the 5th July we have a craft fair. So are busy creating. Will have to split the stock as there is a family party on the saturday night and wont have time to make more!! (that is if it sells!!)
What a weekend that is going to be!!

Scout & Guide Fete

As we have the Scout & Guide Fete, in Barry South Wales coming up, we are making up smaller, less expensive items for the girls to buy at said fete (Fingers crossed) My daughter has been a Girl Guide for 3 years now and has enjoyed every minute of it. Hightlight of last year was the Big Gig, which is a big pop concert featuring loads of fab teenager bands. This year is being held in October at Wembly, and she is already buzzing with the excitement!!

Well, back the the fete. If any of you reading this, is local in South Wales, please come along. It is being held on Saturday 4th July 2009 at Romily Park, Barry, South Wales. Gates open at 12. It is £1.50 for an admission programme before the day, or £2.00 on the day at the gates. Children under 8 are free, and there is free car parking!

This year will be the 56th Annual Scout and Guide Fete. All money raised from the Fete goes directly towards the running of Scouting and Guiding in the local District. There is a lucky programme draw inside the programme booklet, which can be entered on the day. 1st prize is £250!!

It's usually a fab day, whatever the weather!! And this year Dragon Crafts will be there too!!!

So, back to the items being made, which includes the lovely babies and sweetheart charms shown above. We are making both necklaces and bracelets in both charms.

Friday 19 June 2009

WALES!!!!

We now have sourced and made, "small sweetie" bracelets in colours of wales. i.e. red, white and green (the colours on our flag!) The small cubes have 3 layers in those colours. And also red & white and green & white. Also have tubes to match.

If this catches on we can source other colours to match other flags!

TAKE THAT

Don't read any further, if you are going to see Take That on their Circus Tour, spoiler alert!!!!!

Last night, Wednesday 17th June 2009, my OH and I went to see Take That in Cardiff. And to say they were amazing, would be an understatement. They were OUT OF THIS WORLD!!!

We were very lucky where we picked to stand, as we were only about 10 feet away from the secondary stage. Which was where they started the show off from, and did about 5 songs here, including lots of water! Then they went onto the big main stage.

The boys were fantastic, did loads of old songs and a good mix of new ones too. And they can still dance their socks off! Although I still am a HUGE fan of Robbie Williams, they don't need him back, as they are still doing so well as a 4-piece.

Fab time was had and was really tired when we got back home, but so worth the wait! As the ticket was a Xmas present! 6 months is a long time to wait!!!!

Here's to the next time I get to see them live, and the next time ..... and the next!!!!!

Something for the summer

More fimo sets, this time something a little different, to bring back childhood memories! Twister lollies and flumps, although they can still be found in the shops in the edible versions!!!

Fimo Flowers

These fimo flower sets are ideal for young girls. As we have a Scout & Guide fete coming up at the beginning of July, we thought we would make these sets aimed at this market, and price them to fit in with the pocket money factor.

We now have these flower sets in Granite (Grey), Turquoise, Red, Deep Pink, Purple and Yellow. All the pendents are on 18" Silver plated Prince of Wales chains and the earrings are on Silver plated hooks. We also have studs available. The posts are again, Silver plated. Fingers crosssed they sell well :o)

Great things a person can do with fimo!!!!!

4 sets of pendents and earrings. All made from fimo. Would love to say that they were made by mum's fair hands, but we can't take the credit this time. These fimo items were made by a lovely lady who is REALLY clever with fimo (we did try and got into a right old mess, so gave up and hunted high and low for someone really special!)

Stir Crazy!!!!

Had a quiet week, for a change! Mum has been going stir crazy as she's not been able to go any where far because she is still without a car, and it's got to a point now where she is going slightly mad!!!!

I took her the beads that came through the post, so she could start making bracelets and earrings out of them, so keep a look out for the new Welsh fimo bead bracelets coming soon!!

Half term is upon us and fingers crossed the weather will stay dry. Youngest will be having a birthday at the end of next week and we are off to Legoland!! If they survive that long!! LOL

Mum has also been making Cufflinks, ready for Father's Day so will be listing them on MISI as soon as I have the photos.

Well that's it for now, hope you all have fab bank holiday :o)
